Roland CD-Rack vs. ????

I have a chance to get the Roland CD-Rack Digital Studio Storage Pack. It's $500.00 at GC. I'm unsure if this is the way to go for me though...I don't have samplers presently ...and the storage "bay" feature may go unused.

But I guess the question is...as far as Storage to Cd's and Burning your masters..is this thing worth it , or is there a better alternative out there.

I could spend some more bucks if need be...

Any thoughts appreciated.

By the way...I do like the rack-mount feature of this thing.

Get the Plextor version...it's less than half the price, but not rack mountable. I don't know the model number, but it's theyy make a drive that's compatible. You can find out more at www.vsplanet.com . Just do a search for 'plextor'. Save a lot of money, and what else could you ask for?
