screen draw in sonar 1

Any way I can speed up the screen drawing in sonar 1. When editing in the piano roll the playback head is not smooth at all. I have a p3 800/256 Mb ram and a gforce 32 Mb vid card. Is this just the nature of sonar or can a tweak it. I tried running at 8 and 16 bit but no go.
thanks.

Generally I have heard this complaint regarding the wave pictures. Never saw it re. the piano roll view. However, maybe it's related.

Try increasing the size of the picture cache in your aud.ini file. The default is 20 MB. Here is the line you need to edit:

PicCacheMB=20
