Can you s e the alesis xt20 with the old black face units or lx 20 or can you only use xt20 together. what is the biggest difference between the old black faces and the newer lx and xt Tahnks

Biggest difference, the old Black Face records in 16 bit while the XT-20 and LX-20 record in 20 bit. 16 times more digital definition with the 20 series. This is only a problem when exchanging tapes. The 16 bit recorder can't read the 20 bit tapes. But if you are not moving tapes from machine to machine, this is not a real problem. Syncin the machines together or to the BRC is still a capability even when connecting all these machines.
