1955 Martin 000-18
1941 Gibson A-50 mandolin (OK, so it's not a guitar. Does it still count?) I also have a National guitar that I'm pretty sure was made in the 50's but haven't been able to put a date on it yet. I also have an early 60's Gibson Melody Maker that I let my son use.

A Gibson L-0, it is an acoustic with an archtop, dated from 1909-1911 by the Gibson people. It doesn't get played any more, though...just something to have. I never even mention having it when I walk about my guitars, because it never sees sunlight any more.

'65 Tele, unfortunately in relic condition, it was really really played when I got it back in '78....all orginal except the finish, some asswipe stripped it to natural from blue before i got it.....but the maple board is wretchedly worn down in places and the frets are very flat...still playable though, just looks like hell.....
'66 OR '69 Gibson acoustic LG1 (Gibson' s serial number sequences are as screwed as Fender's)....makes no difference, really, these are considered learner guitars, but it's a nice looking sunburst.......a three year return to serial number sequences is common for Gibson..... '77 or '78 black Tele/black guard....again with the serial number screw up by Fender.............gibs My Strat is (according to Fender number schemes) is a 1984, 85, 87 or 88........but for sure not an 86....go figure...............a sure way to find out is to take the neck off and look on the bottom, but I hate doing that unless I'm having something done to the guitar to warrant it........I always feel like there's only so many times you can remove/replace screws before they go to shit...... I have lotsa new gits though, too..............gibs ![]() |

I´ve got others but the really oldest one is a (..woops!..cant remember its name now),..it´s from about 194´s when some company tryied to add an Organ inside the guitar´s electric circuit or something..its called "Guitorgan"!!!...this guy had it from is grandppa and trade it for a practice drum kit i had and didnt need´.
I will not sell it ,but it must be something of a collectors stuff, wierd stuff before the Fenders and Gibsons came along... It has about seven knobs to dial in ,it must be a pre-hist guitar synth for sure..you play it like anyother ( its an arch-top) but the sounds are WEIRD!...LESLIES,ROTARY,HAMMOND like sounds. |

1930? something Graupner & Myer Classical Guitar that I can't find any info on. My Grandfather played this Guitar all through out World War 2. His friend gave it to him. I saw something about a person named "Graupner" that made the Acoustic Guitar pretty much to the standard, way,way back when. If anyone has any info on this brand please email me.

jimistone, is the fretboard on that Flintstone granite?...I've always heard it made for better tone, but there would be a weight issue......and do you know if they ever came with figured marble tops, or were those "special order"?.............
I had an Epistone a while back, but the hardware was terrible, and the thing just wouldn't intonate...I shoulda sprung for the real thing, I guess........gibs |

Oh no, granite sounds too bright. But the sustain is unreal.

I imagine there may have been one or two ok things happening after that time but epiphone strictly speaking is anywhere up to 1969 after that you can flip a coin hit and miss.

uhhhhh...you mean there really wasn't an Epistone guitar made by the same company that made Flintstone guitars?.......I am like, so shocked ........Oh, I get it, you're pulling my leg!..........Good One !!!!...... So like seriously, the pre-300 BC Epistones are better than the later years?....was that because of the limestone knobs or the claw inlays?.......I would really like to know because there's a couple on ebay that caught my eye.......I'm like really into T. Rex, if you catch my drift, and need to capture that tone thang ........gibs |

Gibs, what type of finish came with your Epistone?
I have one with Genuine Brontosaurous Foreskin. Not really sure on the exact dating but I think its pretty old.Might be an antique by now.I am pretty sure it was made before 1969. |

the flintstones guitar i have isn't an epistone...its a gibstone (gibstone did own epistone though). Fred was a star and he wouldn't be caught dead playing an epistone (headstock snob). Gibstones were pretty pricey around 3000 B.C. Probably set fred back a few bones (literally) and a roll in they hay with wilma. The model I have is "the cromagnum-magnum". you didn't want an amp that was too big back then...it would scream alright...but if it was hungry it just might eat you. Yeah I got me a genuine gibstone cromagnum-magnum.....a rock guitar.....cause its made of rock!

hmm
And how did you plug your cromagnum-magnum into your amp? That's probably why it wanted to eat you.
