I know they make two different kinds.. the DM-5 and the DM-Pro. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the differences between the two and if they are worth buying. THanks

Re: Alesis Drum Modules.....

DM5 18 BIT 12 Trigger Inputs 540 Built in Samples 4 Audio Outs (2 Stereo Pairs) 16 Voice Polyphony 21 Drum Kit Locations Retail $499.00 (349.99 Street Price) DMPRO 20 Bit 16 Trigger Inputs 1664 Built in Samples (Expandable Via PCMCIA Cards) 6 Independent Audio Outs (Assignable) 64 Voice Polyphony 64 Drum Kit Locations Retail $899.00 (699.00 Street Price). A couple of things. You will need some sort of interface to work well with one of these. Another drum machine with Midi Capabilities, a Computer with Midi, Keyboard, Electronic Drum Kit, etc. I used to sell the DM5 when it first came out. It worked well and had some good sounds. What are you going to be using it for? Hope that helps. Fangar |

Hey guys,
These things would be great for that. Similar to the Roland ones that are made for triggering. Eventually, I am going to get something similar with about 6 triggers to make a simple electronic drum kit for recording. I play drums a bit, but obvioulsy don't want a full acoustic set due to noise. I worked with a guy who had a Roland set up and added Techno sounds to his acoustic kit. Was cool. Fangar |
