XT hours of use

Generally speaking, about how many hours can be clocked on an ADAT XT before the heads need to be cleaned?

I checked mine the other day and it had 143 hours. I take it that's not very much for a 4 year old machine? The interpolation indicator doesn't register at all.

Hard to believe nothing showed up in the search engine on this topic..

I do mine about every 250 hours or so....

When you say cleaned, do you just use a dry head cleaner, or do you take it into the tech guy to open it up?

I do the cleaning/maintenance stuff (belt changes, idler wheel replacement) myself... and you really shouldn't use those dry cleaners except in an emergency (as in - to get you thru a session until the client leaves, when you open it and clean it)
