Just not too close okay.

I use fx3 the most of all the cakewalk plugs.I have the newer fxreverb and I still like fx3 better.
Having said that I still like dedicated hardware reverbs better, but the gap is closing and plugins are sure easier to use.

There are some free plugins available but I'm not sure about the quality, stability or the hit on your cpu.

Try thiswww.thedirectxfiles.com

You might get some demos to get an idea whats out there.

Hit the plugins button.

how do you get an outboard reverb unit to preform
like audio fx3? i patch my outboard reverb unit digitally
per track, then i pan it, but it puts all the reverb to the left also.
but in audio fx3 you hear the guitar too the left in the room.

thanks

Because my rig has too much latency for input monitoring I run 2 signals 1 clean and 1 wet(reverb only no dry/direct send).
I do this while I'm tracking to get the reverb feel.
Now if I really want that reverb in my project I can either record a track of just reverb(no dry send) and mix that with the dry/cean track or mute every track but the one I'm working on and send it back out to the hardware unit and record just the wet signal.
Certain soundcards have enough in/outs and can be used in conjunction with a hardware unit also.
Now having explained that it sure makes those plugins look a lot better, not to mention the fact you can run as many instances as your cpu can handle.

Now I am certain there are other users out there who might have better methods of doing this and I'd be more than happy to hear them.

In addition as far as room placement I think this is something fx3 excels at if thats what your looking for.
