4 bus mixer to feed 8 tracks
I'm thinking about purchasing a Mackie VLZ 1642 Pro. It has 4 busses. I want to interface this to a 24 track Hard Disk mutitracking machine.
When I record drums, I want more than 4 signals - bass, snare, L overhead, R overhead, tom1 tom2, ec... to each go to a separate track on disk. Is there a way, with 4 busses, to put 8 different signals to the multitracker? Or do I need an 8-bus mixer? |

Just use the direct outs that are on every channel instead of the busses. The mackie's have DO/Inserts on every channel with a mic pre.

Exactly what Tex said. There's eight direct outs, and if u need more then you can use the sub outs, or the inserts, im not a big fan of using inserts but it still works. later........

Did 16 track live a few times with the 1604, with the auxes feeding the last four.
Now that's one filled up mixer. Wayne |
