Trace Elliot GP7 - Blowing Fuses

I bought a GP7 sm 300 last year, used. It worked fine. I leant it to a friend and now it pops fuses... before I send it to a technician, is this "normal" for this amp? I heard a rumor that this was a problem for trace equipment, but I haven't found any proof or solutions yet. Has anybody had a similar experiance...
