Question Could I get some advise about balanced/unbalanced cables & my pre-amp?

On just about everyone's advise I bought an Audio Buddy pre-amp for recording vocals. Now it's time to run it into my 788. Does it matter if the cables from the pre-amp top the 788 are balanced, or will unbalanced work as well? The length of the cable should be around 3 to 5 feet. Thanks for your help.

I've got the audiobuddy too and I just run a one foot patch cord to the breakout box of my c-port.Keep em short and you'll be fine.

It depends

It is always better to get balanced but the deciding factor is the 788. If your inputs accept both Balanced and unbalanced go witht the TRS 1/4 to XLR. I do not think your unit has XLR inputs does it (tascam)? Balanced is always going to be quieter and the bad part is that you hear the noise afterwards when playing back a potentially 1x best take.
