I hope my bass sounds fatten before my Christmas turkey!

Hi,

I tried recording a bass guitar this evening. I didn't mic it up, just pluged it straight into my Focurite Platinum Trackmaster -> Tascam US428 -> Cubase VST.

Whilst we were recording it sounded great a - a really full, fat sound. Then I played it back, and it just sounded so weak. I recorded at 0 db with quite a bit of compression - so what could be making the sound so weak? I have listened to some of the music you guys have produced and the bass always sounds great.

Any suggestions for improvement?

Ian
