Question Connectors & Recording

Alright, I need some help, and I'm a definite newbie when it comes to MIDI.

I have a keyboard that has some super chord accompaniments that I would really like to use to make some MIDI files. I shopped around and found software called "Computer Music Starter Kit". It came with the connectors for the computer and everything. Well, I found out it wasn't really what I wanted, and even though it claimed to be very simple to use, I didn't understand half of what the tutorials were referring to.

The way it records the music is by recording each instrument and rhythm separately, and then it all combines to make one song. Well, that is a whole lot more work than what I really wanted to do. A computer expert friend of mine suggested just hooking up to a tape recorder to record, and then once I get a song the way I want it, I connect the recorder to the computer and save my file that way.

That sounds like more my speed, but I don't know what connectors I need to do the job. Would someone be able to tell me what I need? I don't want a whole lot of expense because I'm basically going to upload my MIDIs to my website to share with others.

Any help someone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Liz

You would be better off recording straight into the computer.

But if you want to record to tapedeck then transfer it into the computer, you will need to purchase an Left/Right male RCA to 1/8" stereo male cable.
