Ok....... Best 90's Drummer

Who do you think is the best 90's Drummer.... When I say nineties, I mean they GOT famous in th nineties, so all those old guys like Neil Peart and Stuart Copeland are out of the question.....

Pickings are sort of slim but here are my pics...No particular order...

Matt Cameron (Soundgarden)
Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace)
Dave Abruzzeze (Ex-Pearl Jam)
Dave Grohl (Not amazing, but solid and strong hitter)
Blas Elias (Slaughter)
Sean Kinney (Alice 'n chains)

I think Dave Grohl and Jimmy Chamberlain would be candidates.

I would have put Matt Chamberlain on the list - best drummer Pearl Jam ever had, but IMO, the exclusion of Danny Carey is a serious oversight as I feel he's the 90's best drummer. Also, Chad Sexton (311) is easily as good as anybody on that list.

Chamberlain has some awesome stuff on Siamese Dream. I would also say Taylor Hawkins can hold his own.

I'm also gonna vote Jimmy Chamberlain. Very harshly left off the list.

Also a write in vote for Prince

You really thought that was Billy Corgan playing those drums? If that was the case, he would be my ultimate hero. No, that was Chamberlin. I've read many interviews with him discussing how fanatical Butch Vig was about his playing, and how he made Chamberlin play parts hundreds of times over to get them perfect.

I would vote for a tossup between Chamberlin and Cameron, I would flip if I could work with either drummer.

Talking

Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.Other than them i can't really think of to many other bands that came out of the 1990's that really influenced me or blew me away. Most of the So-Called alternative band's or "grunge bands" pretty much all sounded the same to me..Dave Matthews Band is one of the few exeptions though, don't think anyone else sounded quite like them.

Jimmy Chamberlain is my pick. As for the siamese dream issue, in interviews for Zwan (he and billy corgans new project) the two of them are creditted as the authors of all the siamese dream material. Everytime I hear the smashing pumpkins, It makes me never want to try to play the drums again...
Also, I think Josh Freese (The Vandals, Perfect Circle) deserves a mention. hes a fantastic drummer, and I believe was the most requested studio drummer of the past few years. his credits are impressive...

Tim Alexander - ex drummer of Primus...he is great! Brain their drummer now isnt too bad, he has managed to keep some of Tim Alexanders drumming style (especially live) but just doesnt quite cut it i dont think...

Also, as Dr_Sbaitso said, Josh Freese...He's an awesome drummer, and he has played with a shitload of bands playing heaps of different music...
