Dumb question...

I have read the term A/B or A/B' ing used in this forum somewhere. Is this the industry term for doing a side-by-side comparison sound check?? Thanks.

Only A/B'ing I've ever heard was using an A/B switch and two guitar amp heads instead of a channel switch on a single head for dirty/clean sounds...
