playback problem with tascam 564

hi,

i bought a portastudio 564 second hand recently and found this prob:
recording seems to work quite well, but when i start to playback the song from pos zero the play-LED beginns to flash and nothing happens, no sound , no transport at all.
i cant find a hint in the manual for an error or so.

any help is appreciated !

Did you remember to switch the channels from Mic/Line to Disc??
(the switch right under the trim knob at the top of the channel)

If you didn't you won't hear anything.
