More than 4 tracks

what kind of analog recorders can i use to get more than 4 tracks (looking for 6+) w/out bouncing and having stereo? Are there any under $1000 or even better $500?

Right now i have a portastudio02 mkll and im trying to get more tracks with out having to bounce everytime.

TASCAM TSR-8

TASCAM TSR-8 (reel to reel) is a great machine

You can find them used sometimes on ebay...

The older tascams (80-8, 3440 etc) maybe worth looking into if the heads have been replaced.

Atwork is on a distinguished road
The Tascam 488 is an 8 track cassette multitracker. It's not made any more but can be found used. The MkII is the most recent version.

I'd probably look at the Tascam 788 digital 8 track, myself. It's well within the budget you state - $799 at Musicians Friend (that's without CD-RW).
