Cool Mixer with Direct outs

Hello, This is my first posting so here comes the newbie question. I want to find a mixer that has good pre's and direct outs for studio application. I will be using it with MOTU 24i and a fast computer (P1.8) and Cubase VST 32 5. If anyone can suggest anything I would really appreciate it.

Ohh and I want to stay away from Behringer. I am sure that won't create a sore spot on the BBS, heh.

Mackies have 1/4' direct outs with the Alesis boards having
RCA directs out suitable for recording to ADATs.

that's why they make 1/4 to rca and rca to rca snakes. so just because the alesis has rca outs does not mean it is a more suitable mixer for adat.

Why would an individual want to buy additional parts when the
Alesis studio line is MADE for adats, hence the RCA connections!
The Studio series of boards WAS mfd with ADAT connections in mind! You save money that way and it also eliminates the need for the tiring task of re-patching which you have mentioned!!

Phantom 2408

ART was selling a line of mixers called the Phantom 2408 and 3208. These boards have tons and tons of features for recording and live and are very quite. They can be had for around 400-500 bucks used.

16x4 bus arcitecture with direct outs, a 8x2 sub mixer that can be bussed into the 16x4 section for 8 addtional inputs or can be used as a seperate 8x2 for keyboards or?

Rack mountable in about 11 spaces.

two track send and returns, control room outs, phone outs, talkback mic input, solo, mute..........

I use one in my home studio and get just as nice of results as at the main studio that uses a SoundTracs Topaz
