Cakewalk Plasma FXPad, functional or piece o crap?

Hey. Looking for some 'make life easier' gadgets and stumbled across the Cakewalk Plasma pad. Anyone have a product review for this?

Also, on the hunt for new effects for guitar and bass amp simulation/modeling....any thoughts???

Currently addicted to the 'Vintage Tremolo' and 'British Crunch' effects....would like a library full of MOOORRREEE!!! and/or some bass specific effects.
