Cake walk
my Cakewalk only will play back 8 tracks at a time. Is there a way to increase the number of tracks for playback?

Turns out to be Professional 8. Seems to be two or three versions behind everyone else. Beside the tracks question, I purchased and have tried to down load the cakewalk effects packet 1 but I keep geeting a message that reads( could not initialize installation (CRW) this function is only valid in WIN 32 mode)
Thanks!! |

You mean EXACTLY 8 tracks? All the time? Or sometimes nine or seven?
What are your computer specs? Need more data... tab |

Plays up to eight tracks and no more. When I try to play more than 8 tracks a message pops up basicly telling me thats all it is capable of at one time.
My computer is a Compaq Peesario 5282 AMD-KG-@ 450MHZ Processor 19gb Harddrive Windows 98 |

Cakewalk Professional 8? Do you mean Cakewalk Pro Audio 8.0?
There was for a short time a Cakewalk Professional, which was like the earlier versions and was basically a MIDI sequencer with the ability to place WAV events in the event window, and a Pro Audio version which allowed recording of audio tracks as well as MIDI tracks. The Professional version died out somewhere along the line. I think it was still alive at version 6.0. But I have a gap between 6.0 and 9.0 -- I didn't upgrade for a couple of years. Maybe there's a Cakewalk version historian around who can straighten this out. I'm pretty sure the various lite versions over the years (Home Studio, Guitar Tracks, Gold Express...) are limited to eight audio tracks max... |

I double checked and it is called Professional 8.
I purchased and have tried to down load the cakewalk effects packet 1 but I keep geting a message that reads( could not initialize installation (CRW) this function is only valid in WIN 32 mode) . Could this be because of the version of cakewalk I have? |
