Wink new user

Hi
Im very new on this....
I own a 424Portastudio, you know the old one...
I've record Direct, and made some pannings too...but what i want to is how to get the recorded tracks 1,2,3 all together to track 4?
For example..can i record the drums on track 1,2 and 3 and send it to track 4 and then use tracks 1,2,3 to record the guitar, bass and vocals???
Right know Im using track1 for guitar, 2 for bass, 3 for vocals and 4 for drums using 1 mic...

Thanx..

German

My best advice is for you to go to the tascam website and download a manual for the 424MKIII. Its the newest version but everything works about the same as the 424. I did this myself last year when I bought a 424 off ebay, without the manual. I think you'll really need the manual to get the most out of your 424. Good luck recording!

German,
Yes you can. Use tracks 1,2,3 for what ever, then bounce them to track 4. This gives you 1,2,3 to use again. As the others said, this is in your manual. There will be some loss of sound quality when you bounce, but if you pay lots of attention to your levels, this works fairly well. I do it every now and then. You can also use 1,2,3,4 tracks and then use 5 or 6 live when you mix down. This is what I do if I need more than 4 tracks, and there is no sound loss. Check your manual. e-mail me if you still need help.
