kick-butt Christian tune....take a listen

Now...it's got an intro...so let that get by ya...(but it's ok too...I think)
....and recorded with an UN Mod[ed] MXL2001 mic on vocals.
guitars recorded outside with an Ampeg V4...really friggin loud.
I think you'll like it if you enjoy Christian music....or not....

Cool

i was honestly getting a little bored with the intro...maybe throw some surprises here and there to keep interest up...when the drums came in arounf :40 i wanted them to hit ALOT harder......
rest of the song is good.....very nice recording from what i can hear on the headphones.....the vocalist isnt exactly my cup of tea (not saying she isnt good)......

mixmkr,

Pretty cool. I love the vocal melody. It sounded great. There was one thing that was a bit strange IMOP, the chorus when she says, "Hes like the light of day," that sounds a little wierd to me. It was overall a pretty cool tune, I would also maybe snip the end.
I enoyed it overall though. You manage to get your point across and still maintain a cool musical mood.

Dont listen to my opinions because I have no idea what I'm talking about. I know nothing about Christian music. The only thing i do know is I liked it.

peace.

the begining(before the words) the background noise is similar to that of Marilyn Manson's "Tourniquette".

im not christian anymore at all, but the production is well done.

and its obvious the musiciansip is good too.

2 thumbs up.

wrong song...

the begining background noise before the voice comes in on your track is similar to the begining background noise on Marilyn Manson's "Sweet Dreams" cover. not tourniquette.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

BTW, this has been posted before...have you worked on the mix or something?

oxy[moron]

no...not posted before that I recall. I did post a link quite awhile back to a Mp3.com site that probably had this tune on it...but it would have been a couple tunes down from the first one listed. Sorry if this post appears to redirect to the same tune....not my intention. However, I don't recall getting any feedback on this tune before in the clinic. I have not remixed the tune. As noticed, I just pulled this tune only, and put it on nowhereradio, to save people the perils of MP3.com

Gidge...thanks much for the listen...the intro probably is a bit long (as alluded to in my first post to have a little patience.. ) I want the drums louder too...but with levels and all, would mean reducing the levels of everything else...as the drum sound basically is already mildly clipping (in an acceptable way, imo)

bsabbath, webcyan...thanks also for the listen.
the ending should probably go too...In the context of a CD[with other songs], it seems to be not as boring...possibly...

mixmkr,

This is a REALLY cool song. I just thought that it deserved a few more responses just in case it was missed. Whether your into the lyrics or not, cool tune by any standard. Very original. Disregard anything negative that may have been said. This is my favorite song by you YET.

Excellent job again mixmkr!

later.

Great job Mixmkr!

The melody is great, and I really like that rocking tune to these lyrics. The guitars are absolutely wonderful, especially the solo.

hey mixmkr,

i felt the mix was really good. the guitars really sit well in the mix and fill it up without being overbearing.

kit sounds Okay but not as good as the guitars. i wanted to hear a longer snare hit with a tad of sizzle. kick was a bit to flappy for me. but none of this really took away from the mix. cymbals sit well in the mix...

pleasant Female voice and i liked the Reverb. seemed to give her voice a bit more command...

great job...and i actually listened to the whole song...pleasant to listen to...

thanks on the comments, sonixx. I try hard with my "canned drums" and put each drum on separate tracks to try and fix them up the best I can when mixing. I will say that the mp3 conversion really alters the snare sound I like to use, quite a bit. It takes away the punch and makes it sound like some "white noise" is added in...making it more snary(y) sounding, with less attack. I don't think most people would tell a difference, being canned drums, but I bummed out immediately. I never really bother with bit rates above 128 however...maybe should give a higher encoding rate a try.

thanks for the gtr sound comments too...it is a sound I have been "stuck with" for the last 20 years!

btw...thanks for sitting thru all 7 mins of the song...its a loooong one...
peace,
Chris
