Relatively new makie mixer's busses going quiet...

I have a Mackie SR24x4 mixer which is about 7 or 8 months old and used on maybe 5 projects, and I noticed the other day that busses 1-2 are way too quiet. I have to pump the faders to nearly clipping levels just to get a good recording signal out out of them. I've heard stories about behringer mixers having this problem, but I thought mackies we're supposed to be alot better. I didnt pay $1,300 to use a mixer for 8 months. I wanted one that would last at least a few years. Now I'm having to use auxiliary outs as busses instead of the actual busses themselves. Has anyone else had problems with mackies like this?
