Does the amplifier play a large role in the sound of Monitors?
Meaning: do i have to spend a crapload of money on a nice amplifier to make my monitors sound accurate or good? thanks! |

The main difference between all the pro grad amps will mainly be their true power output. Some 100w amps will blow away some 300w amps.
You will notice more of a difference with good clean power than you will any general changes in tone based on circuitry. The clean power is what your paying for. With that said, a good clean 100W amp is enough for most monitors. 300w should power just about anything(in the studio). |

I bought a Stewart 100 amp about 10yrs ago. It's a half rack power amp and has more power than I can comfortably use on my NS10M's. If I max the amp I cant bring the monitor volume over 10% without it blasting me out of the room.
