Arrow Powering Monitors

Does the amplifier play a large role in the sound of Monitors?
Meaning: do i have to spend a crapload of money on a nice amplifier to make my monitors sound accurate or good?

thanks!

The main difference between all the pro grad amps will mainly be their true power output. Some 100w amps will blow away some 300w amps.

You will notice more of a difference with good clean power than you will any general changes in tone based on circuitry. The clean power is what your paying for.

With that said, a good clean 100W amp is enough for most monitors. 300w should power just about anything(in the studio).

I bought a Stewart 100 amp about 10yrs ago. It's a half rack power amp and has more power than I can comfortably use on my NS10M's. If I max the amp I cant bring the monitor volume over 10% without it blasting me out of the room.
