Larsan is on a distinguished road
equipment hookup

I am going to use my computer to burn cd's of my album collection.
My problem is that my computer and stereo equipment are in different rooms with no way to move them. Is there any equipment available to carry the signal from the stereo to the computer other than stretching cables from one room to the other?

I suppose you could convert the signal to low impedence from the stereo with transformers and convert back to high impedence at the computer, but it seems easier to move one next to the other for awhile.

I converted a lot of my obscure albums a few years back, scanning the album covers and all. It's handy to have everything converted to CD-R's. Don't toss those albums though, cheap CD-R media can start to show read errors in just a few years.

Use good quality interconnects and you should be fine going from one room to another.
