my "studio"
ok this isn't my studio, this is where i've been recording currently.
http://claygate.net/feb2002westlake.htm its a garage/shed place where the band has built a practice room under slight supervision from me. I just kinda told them "foam alone wont help acoustics. It was just made of cinderblocks with a tin roof. Now their space is studded, insulated, and sheetrocked, on the walls and ceiling. I got stuck in another part of the garage thats unfnished. It was a cold cold 4 days. But really fun. http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthr...threadid=43329 if you want to listen to some stuff that isn't really mixed yet but needed to be "roughed" for the percussionist. |

How did the equipment like the cold? I can't imagine it worked as well as it should.

It worked great. It was about 50F in the cold part when we started everyday, so thats within the working limits from Alesis. I had no contact with the sun, so i was getting more cold from the lack of radiation.

We have a pretty cold rehearsal room in which we recorded our 6-track demo.
What I remarked is that my B16 16-track 1/2" tape really works less good in the cold. It doesn't find the 0:00-Marks anymore etc... pretty interesting. My old 16-Track Yamaha Board is a case for the garbage bin anyway. Cheers al www.chrysalis.ch |
