Cool Hooray! (But what to do?...)

Just got a Mes/Boogie TriAxis via eBay. Whoah. And only $830 for a version 2 (no fat mod). Even better than my Quad. I'm in love.

Only one prob. One of the damn volume knobs doesn't work and the whole thing feels real loose. The seller said it was in "excellent condition with only a few minor scratches." Damn, I don't like being mislead and am usually reluctant to leave negative feedback. Now that I have it, I also am reluctant to send it back because it sounds so good and it was a better price than most V2 TriAxis' go for. I gotta figure out what to do. Right now I'll toss the seller an e-mail about it and see what he says.

He or she will claim it was damaged in shipping, and thats possible.

I would attempt to address it with him/her first, then call the shipping company immediately and complain about their shipping methods.

I would take it to a local repair shop, and get an estimate. Either the seller who misrepresented it (on purpose or by accident) and/or the shipping carrier should repair it at their cost.

Thanks for the replies and support TexRoadkill frederic.

It actually might have been jostled in shipping. There were some dents in the shipping box where the volume pot may have hit the side. No damage to the outside of the box. Seems like poor packaging.

I took it apart last night. A couple of screws were almost stripped. No traces or wires appeared broken. The post was not tightened in all the way. I tugged at the post a bit and then tightened it down. Everything works fine now...

Except for the tone. Which is beyond belief! Whoo-hoo!

I'll jam with it tonight to be sure it's ok, and probably will keep it. Even if something else goes wrong, I picked it up for what the version 1's are going for. Good enough deal.

Matt
