New Pickup

I'm looking at getting a new bridge pickup (since thats the only one i use). Im replacing the orignal pickups in my Maton Mastersound (a great guitar the probably only the Aussies here will have heard). Its a Humbucker, but splitable to single coil (not that i use it as a sinlge coil much). I play maily alternative/rock and roll. Nothing too heave and nothing too light. I want a pickup that sounds great with fairly heavy (not thash metal heavy) distortion but also nice with a very light distortion aswell as a nice warm clean sound. My current pcikup sounds fairly good for the heavier distortions but way too mudy for any light distortion (especialy where open chords are involved).
I've been considering a Dimarzio 57 or a Seymor Dunkun same sort. Anyone here got any suggestions. It will be much apreciated.
Cheers

Seymore dunkun make excellent pickups! Very good clarity and sound from what u have said they would probably give u the kind of sound u are looking for, but I would also look at the EMG pick ups they are very good!

One of my guitars is a custom-built 'Super-strat' i.e. Two splitable humbuckers with a single coil between them. The pick up I use and love on the bridge is a Seymour Duncan 'Mag'
When in humbucker mode it's warm and sweet and ringy when clean, with distortion it sings and has a really nice top end (just like a girl I used to date (c;])
In single coil mode it's bright and crisp, but doesn't take your head off like a Telecaster does.

Check it out - this might work well for you.

Good Luck,

foo
