DV to VHS

I'm trying to record video from a DV tape onto a VHS tape in a VCR. I've got the video and two audio cables going from the DV camera to the "in" jacks on the VCR, I start play on the DV camera and record on th VCR but nothing happens. Should all VCRs be able to record from a DV camera?

That should work just fine. Once it comes out those componenet video cables it's a standard video signal. My own VCR has a couple of inputs that can be selected -- front, back -- and I need to be sure to select the one I plug into. Maybe that's your issue?

AlChuck said it right. I would better a bugger, ( I mean Burger) that you have the wrong input selected on the VCR. Also check to see that the camera is in Play or VCR mode.

I found the VCR instructions and it directed me to key in a sequence of numbers via the remote to put it in record mode. I was using the right inputs but they were not active. I've never heard of having to take that step, but it did work. Thanks for the help.
