what would I want with a synth?
What do you do with these things? I've heard that The Grifters used to run guitars through one, but I'm not sure about that. Can that be done? I don't have much interest in playing keyboards, but I am interested in sound effects.

There are synth pedals out there for guitar. Some of them sound really good.
I'm not a guitarist, but I'm sure that you can find something like this that will make you smile. ![]()

Listen to the FM-4 Filter from Line-6 (the Pod people).
For a good time, click me! There's a listbox for more samples of this fun sounding toy at the bottom of the page. Carl

You would probably be better off with a bad ass multi effects unit. With effects and a guitar you can do just about any type of weird sounds if that is what your looking for.

I've got the roland gr33, and with the gk2a pickup it needs, it allows you to plug in via midi to any other midi synth. ...i like it.

a friend of mine shared this link w/ me. it lets you listen to several cool guitar effects boxes. I think I'm in love with the Electro-Harmonix Micro Synthesizer.
