Kurzweil PC88 vs PC2

I love the sound and feel of the Kurzweil PC2, but it's a little outside my budget. However, I've recently come across a deal on the previous model: PC 88MX (about 4 years old) and am considering getting it.
Question: what are the main differences between these 2 boards?
From the standpoint of sound quality?
The MIDI capabilities apear to be the same.

Anyone familiar with either of these boards?
Comments, feedback, wise-cracks?
