I need a soft warm microphone. The music I am going to record is acoustic guitar and vocals.

The mic preamp I have access to is a Focusrite Voicemaster and a yamaha 01v mixing board.

Any suggestions on another preamp for instuments?

Hey Gip:

You can really get a deal on the AKG 3000; I have one in my studio and it is warm for vocals and should work for guitar too. Try Calling Full Compass or any other dealer in your area for prices. Lots of mics at good prices. Suggest you might rent one or two before you buy?
