Three easy questions..

From a old-school analog guy. I have a concert quality acoustic piano which I would like to explore producing digital recording.
1. What is the best way to capture this sound digitally?
2. Is there a preferred mic technique?
3. I have a P466 laptop. Can you put a midi-type card in a notebook?

Never used this technique, but I hear that a PZM mic taped inside the piano lid is the preferred method.
