Vocal recordings/mic - What is "scoop"?
People say for example the Rode NT2 has a good "scoop" for vocals...that's one of those audio terms - what does it mean?
Only thing I can think of is like, sliding from lower notes to higher notes...just portrays that nicely? |

An eq curve that looks like a smile, with reduced midrange and increased low end and high end.

so NT2 doesn't pick up the mids that well? I don't get it.

I don't think it has a "scooped" mid as such, just a brighter top end....
It's not like the response curve dips in the mids in any way.... Bruce |
