Kent is on a distinguished road
I was deciding on buying a sm57 or sm58 yesterday ( im on a budget!) and the guy at the store told me that they are both the exact same, and that the 58 is called a vocal mic. because the little " cage" on it keeps the vocalist far enough from distorting the sound. Is this at all true? He said they were virtually identical...i have no idea! .....thanks, Kent
oh, i ended up buying the 57

The guy at the store is close but clueless. See the mics page at http://homerecording.com/mics.html and find out the real stuff...
