The SB Live! (CT4620, not the "Value" card) has a mixer in its interface. Is that a facade and no substitute for an actual mixer?
Is that particular SB card any better than the cheaper SBs in terms of record quality? My short term projects include one that will be remastered in a pro-studio, and sound files for multimedia presentations that are not performance files just demonstration.

A post in sound cards tells me that the SB "mixer" is an "internal" port between an actual mixer, the SB, and computer. Got it.
