Fostex XR-5

Setup:

Instrument/Microphone------>Fostex XR-5------(A/V-1/8" stereo out)------>Sound Blaster Live!

is there a better way to go about doing this? i was thinking an Echo Mia sound card, because of the 1/4" inputs....could i still go stereo out of the Fostex via A/V cables?

anyone else using this setup?
