Using outboard effects with the VS 1680..or in other words, what's the deal with ...

effects cards.
I want to use a alternate reverb unit with the 1680...a Lexicon 200 to be exact.

How do you most efficiently send and recieve with outboard processors on the Roland products...Spidf..optical...burn two channels??

I'm really an acoustic musician who wants to record with a nice verb and maybe a few other effects now and then...and know that the Roland sound cards have had rave revues...but give me a break...can the internal sound card reverb really match something you can get from a Lexicon??

Who's got experience with this dilema??

I have the 1880 and I connect my outboard reverb with the aux out and loop it to an input.I'm sure the Lexicon would be better than the effects card but I am pleased with mine.
