My 3340s Broke

I got a TEAC 3340s years ago and I love it.But about a year ago channels 1and3 kinda took a shit(sorry but its true)they both have alot of white noise coming from them even if theres no input.Channel 1 is the worst I cant even record directly into the machine without the recording being really distorted and unusable. When I record on channel 3 the recording isn't distorted but theres alot of noise.Channels 2and4 sound fine.Anybody ever have this happen?Anybody know whats going on?I can work on equipment a little but I need a schematic.Anybody know where I can get a schematic(for free)?Any help would be appreciated THANKS FRANK BOOTH

You can try searching Ebay for a service manual, or one of the search-engines like Google.com. Type in the make number (e.g +teac +3340) and see if you can find something....it usually works for me. Good luck!

Cleaned your heads lately ?
When I bought my Technics many moons ago, the guy sold it to me for HALF of what he wanted because he thought there was a hardware problem on the right channel. I took it home, cleaned the heads, and all was well. Helps when you're a tech.
90 % Isopropyl (not rubbing) alcohol. Every few hours of use, or in unprotected environments. Capstans, pinch rollers, heads, everything.

Guys, I've edited and zipped the image files of the schematics for TEAC 2340sx. This is similar in many ways to 3340 machines, but of course there are differences between models of that "family".
These are not scans, but actually are digital camera photo shots, that SteveM made while ago. The files are readable, but it's a bit hard to figure things out. So you'd need to unzip the folder, then print out the files and puzzle them together. Well it's better than nothing
I've added the zip file to my "tech archive", go to this page:
http://www.mzentertainment.com/studi...l_archive.html
there scroll to "SCHEMATICS, CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS SCANS:", and there it's the first thing in the list of audio and rec equipment.
The zip file is about 5MB, it contains .jpg files.
