Getting started on quality band photos

We plan on releasing with some really funny and creative photos, but reallized we don't even begin to know how to get started making them. You know, where can we get quality pictures like you see in label band photos.... the ones with the cool lighting, etc, etc. How much are we gonna end up spending for some decent professional pictures? How the hell do you go about finding a good photographer/studio? Are there any sites that have tips and stuff like that on photography?

In your area go to the wedding photographers, they're bored as hell and love to direct.

Go to the largest professional photographic supply house or camera store in Phoenix. Talk to some of the old-timers. They all do freelance work, and will do an excellent job. Make sure you get a contract stating that YOU own the negatives! (and take them with you) Wedding photogs always keep copyright and possesion of the negs.
Good luck!

Just get one of 'em digitals, and hang out!

Do the monkey jig!!!

With those thingies you can take ALL the pictures you want, and every once in a while, you'll get one that looks really professional. Together with those other few 100 more funny pics! And it didn't cost you more than the camera. Which will serve you lateron
