Mixing in Acid

Ok now I dont have any fresh equpiment or hardware but Im tryin to get by with the software I got...........I ve been a madman hunting on the Web for mastering techniques and I ve aquired Ozone by Izotope and I like it but one wuestion that I have never gotten an answer on is Mixing volume levels...............Ok I make all my loops with Fruity Loops and as far as samples go I use some that are provided and some that I just find around the net..........now I export my loops as singular loops over to Acid to mixdown........this means that some of my loops come out louder than others do......now I m wandering should I normalize all my loops and set my volume levels to 0 or should I just play it by ear on my loops and I do record vocals over the top too .......the reason Im asking is becuz now that i have Ozone I think I can get that part down but I need some input on mixing using the resources that I have so I dont mess it up from the get go..........thanks.........peace

.........."now I export my loops as singular loops over to Acid to mixdown"

Does this mean you are exporting each individual instrument separately? If so, why not mix them in FruityLoops and export them together?

I do this becuz

I mix in Acid becuz I like to cut and paste and what not and I HATE the fruity playlist so the answer is yes I make a loop of each instrument and then export each one over to Acid and then paint them in and cut it up and give and take where I want loops to play and not play......thanks please get back if you can

I don't think I can help much. I've got Acid Music 2.0 but haven't used it much. Each loop has a volume control as far as I remember. Does that only work on loops supplied with Acid? If not, you can adjust your volume levels using them. Normalizing was popular here a while back but I've never done it so I don't know about that. You'll have to hope someone else cuts in with the right answers. If no one does, try the question in another forum, maybe Computer Recording and Soundcards or DJ/Hip Hop/Rap/Beats or the Sonic Foundry forum. Not all at once, though.
