VF08 - Sending Digital Signal through S/PDIF

I'm trying to Input and Output a Digital Signal through S/PDIF

I have my VF08 hooked up to my PC through a Sound Card and what they are calling a rack. The Rack has Coaxial and Optical Inputs and Outputs on the back. I have my VF08 S/PDIF Output connected to the PC Rack S/PDIF Input. I don't seem to receive any signal on my PC, I'm currently using MusicMatch software. The same is true when trying to send a Digital signal to my VF08 through the S/PDIF, the VF08 tells me ***WARNING*** DIGITAL IN UNLOCK. By the way I have enabled the Digital Input in the set-up. If anyone can steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

this may sound like a dumb answer, but try power down/ back up of the vf08 and or 'puter with the connections already in place. good luck

Some added information

I am using a coaxial digital cable with RCA connectors.
I have my soundboard mixer set to Digital Input as the recording input.
I have the MusicMatch software set to Mixer Input as the recording input.
