Digital recorder opinions, please.

Hello again ~ and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. It has been months since I have been back here, and I really need your help again. I may have posted a similar question before, and forgotton the reply. If this is indeed found out, please forgive me - and offer an opinion again (this is very important to me). Here goes: I am a songwriter/singer who has composed a good number of songs on my dedicated MIDI music sequencer (Yamaha QY700) and now desire to record my vocals onto a machine (that my music has been "lined" into) for a final recording onto my PC based CDR. I have CWPA9 on my computer, but navigating it without a manual hasn't been very fruitful for me. Besides, having a dedicated recorder for my vocals & MIDI music transferrance would afford the opportunity of moving to another room to do my recordings other than being in close proximity to our family room. Does anyone know of a nice machine that would serve my purpose without hurting the pocket too much? What I mean is, I don't need a lot of "bells & whistles" - just a nice machine that would do a good job of recording my vocals for presentation to a prospective artist. Or should I install CWPA9 on my laptop (with only a 6-gig hard drive, though) and attempt to wade through it until feeling comfortable enough to utilize it instead? Any help here would be most appreciated.

Nate
