Cakewalk & Audigy 2

Pedullist; & anyone else with Audigy...how is the sound quality? Are there better Piano & Drum sounds than Platinum? Can the bit depth & sample rate be changed for recording & playback? How about Firewire...can audio be recorded & accessed in Cakewalk directly to an external hard drive connected to the Firewire port? can an external Sound Module be connected to the Audigy Drive for more MIDI sounds? (I know this is a lot to ask, but I recently yanked out my SB Live! Platinum & replaced it with a Korg OASYS PCI. The sounds are tremendous, but they don't record as audio all that well; & I'm thinking about returning to Creative.) Thanks gang.

Pedullist is on a distinguished road
Just read this great article by Ethan Winer:

http://www.ethanwiner.com/audigy.html

If you can get it to work (which can be pure hell: read the audigy related posts at the creativeforum http://www.europe.creative.com/joini...e=&foru=&mess= ), it's a great card (I guess). I had to reinstall my PC with ACPI turned off, and try out every PCIslot until it worked...sort of OK, it's STILL not perfect (I've got, like many people, LOTS of soundfontproblems)

So I wouldn't recommend buying one...
