Smile Recording from a Home Cassette Player

I have just received a new computer Athlon 1900xp, which has a software program called Nero 5 for recording onto CDs.

I have loads of LPs which I am recording onto cassettes, and I would like to find out how I can record from this medium onto my Computer, and then onto CDs.

Also, how could I record from the record player straight into the Computer.

Thanks

Stephen

You need the right cable to connect your hi-fi amp to your computer soundcard. Typically this cable has a pair of RCA connectors (one red, one white) at the hi-fi amp end and a 1/8th" stereo plug at the soundcard end. This will go into the Line-In of your soundcard. Then you gen up on the Nero 5 software to see how you use it. You record your LPs straight to the hard disk of the PC using your software. The songs/LPs are saved as wav. files (usually). Then you burn/write the the wav. files to CD using your CD burner/writer. You didn't mention whether or not your PC has one of these. If it doesn't you'll have to get one. You can get more info. on this topic by using this site's Search facility doing a search on "vinyl" to "computer" or something similar.
