More precise editing

When I start recording in Sonar I have to run over to another part of my room(I am the engineer and performer) to play the song. Say usually I will have 20 seconds before I actually get to play the song, then another 20 seconds after. Say I want to delete all 40 seconds, how do I do this? I know how to edit out each of those blocks say the music didn't start till block 14 1/2. How could I edit out the first 14 1/2 blocks? I can delete up to 14 but how can I delete the other half?
Thanks,
Daniel

I hope you understand my wording.

Select all your tracks (Edit -> Select -> All). Set your Snap To Grid to half notes (or quarter notes, or whatever you need). Then draw the area you want to remove on the Time Ruler (click the mouse at the far left of the Time Ruler and hold and drag it to the right until you have selected what you want).

When you release the mouse button, all the tracks should be highlighted for the measures that you want to remove.

Now go to Edit -> Delete. Make sure you select the radio button for "delete hole" and click OK.

That should do it for you.
