Does This Poppy Crap Sound Good?

Hiya!
I've got another mix, the song is called "Happy Threat" I would like you hockypucks to critique the mix.
My personal opinion is that the kick might be too loud (among a host of other things), what do you think?

Please feel free to blast me and/or make some suggestions

It was recorded and mixedon the obligatory Makie 1604 VLZ/ ADAT system w/ some PC editing.

If you'd like to comment on the song itself, thats fine although I am not really looking for song critique, unless you love it. If you hate the song, well...piss off!

Thanks,
Twonk

Talking

Hey,
I thought the vox could have used a tad more warmth (not enough to deminish the effect) and the keys seemed to compete for center stage with the vox.
bass and d-tracks were well represented.

As far as the song goes, I'm proceding to piss off as instructed.

Nice work!
Theron.

I thought that the synth could have been brought down a tid bit during the singing, though I liked how it sounded when there wasn't.

Thumbs up

I thought that the vocals and keyboards/synths should be brought down, and the vocals should come up a bit.

I noticed that you didn't list David Bowie as one of you influences.
This song has 'Bowie' all over it.
If this song was on one of his albums, it's guaranteed to be in the Top 40.
I really liked the song alot. It has great potential.

Buck

I thought it had an Elvis Costello/Spin Doctors feel to it.

Not convinced that the screaming (backup vocals?) ~0:33, 1:22 added anything of value.

You achieved the goal of making the band sound like one instrument, as opposed to a bunch of parts of the same song played in unison.
