The ONLY wah anyone should consider (IMO) is either a CryBaby or a VOX... period. (And neither of them are $60 bucks!)

Whatever you do, don't buy a Morley. Not anything near a full-range sweep on it. Go with a Crybaby or Vox.

I've got to agree with the other guys here. I had a Morley wha for years and hated it. I finally switched to Cry-baby and would never consider anything else. It just sounds better damn it!

Some of the old morleys are kinda nice. The big metal cased ones with the 120V transformer. I use one of the cheap morleys, and agree with everyone else. Not a lot of range to it, but it doesn't make any scratching noise being optical, one plus. Outside of that it's a pos.

Unhappy Truthfully.....

.....I've been contemplating getting a wah again myself and for the all the ones I've heard nowadays, I'd definately steer way clear of Morley. Crybabies don't even seem as cool anymore. I believe I'm going for the Vox if i get around to it. They seem to have a bit more personality to my ears.

I know it's more than 60 bucks but try ebay or used listings or save a bit more. That way you will buy a peice of gear that wll stick with you. Much cooler in the long run as I've found out the hard way.

cry baby is my personal favourite. Here's a song where I used it quite a bit.

Lots of good advice here.
The best in my opinion is from the ones who mention quality. Get the best.
I've had a vox for a while. Long while.

Go to the store and use both, find which one suits you. It's all a matter of personal flavor/taste, blah, blah....
Good luck.

Scott, like the song, like the sound of your crybaby.
Hope your in no direct danger of those fires.

Yeh, the fires are the worst that iv'e ever seen here. It started on christmas day. I was having lunch with the folks in the backyard and looked up and saw a thick smoke come over us. Was freakish. Imagine the smoke from sept 11 twin towers but times 150, and wrapped around our biggest city Sydney. Should see the satalite picture, there's more smoke than clouds this side of the country. The folk around the outside of the city are just sitting and waiting. A lot have fled already. Gotta thank Canada and the USA for sending those wicked cool water crane helicopters out here. Fuck do those things work good. They hold tonnes of water and can be filled up in 40 seconds. Amazing. You should here the cheers from everyone when they fly over. Situation getting worse by about 20% each day.

Gee, I like my Bad Horsie wah wah.... Morely release a new one late last year with more adjustability for extremists. I primarily use mine as an envelope filter, little wahs rather than big hendrix like wahs...... Just my personal preference, but I have tried alot of wahs in the store and find that having an arsenal of toys is always best. I used to have 3 different distortion pedals and 2 wahs. I find that some wahs sound differently depending on the guitar, the BH is super weak with Strats, i.e. single coils, but not so bad with a super distortion 2, my Jeff Beck model Seymore Duncan sounded the best with the BH in the bridge position. Buy what you can afford is my motto, that way you maximize you envy meter and incease the lust database.

PS. Make sure those US helicopters don't pick up scuba divers in their water buckets!

Peace,
Dennis
