Please forgive the long post. My ignorance is irritating the crap outa me. I guess I was a bit premature about not wanting to be called a newbie. Just because I've recorded analog for a # of years doesn't help me set up a damn soundcard, now does it?
First of all, I can't believe that the manufacturers don't include a very simple "How to set up your computer and sound card to use this crap" manual or sheet. That would save a great deal of time. Do they assume everyone knows this stuff? I use, or am trying to use, the Omni Studio w/n-tracks. I'm trying to get my first audio signal in n-tracks. When I chose the View/Soundcard Mixer/Recording controls, I get an error message that says, "There is a problem with your sound hardware. To install mixer devices go to control panel...blah, blah,...check add new hardware. Now, the Delta Card appears to be working, because I get an audio signal through the Omni i/o. What I wonder is, and here's where you guys will start falling on the floor, do I even have the correct settings in Sound and Audio set up? With the Omni you have several options on the Audio tab for playback and record: Under Playback: M Audio Delta 66 Multichannel M Audio Delta 66 1/2 M Audio Delta 66 3/4 M Audio Delta 66 s/pdif (I know it's not this one) Under Recording M Audio Delta 66 Multichannel M Audio Delta 66 1/2 M Audio Delta 66 3/4 M Audio Delta 66 Mon. Mixer M Audio Delta 66 s/pdif (I know it's not this one) What do you choose for where? And on the Voice tab? |
