Question Recording Bass on BR-8

Just received new bass and would like to start using it instead of my guitar and the the bass sims. Any suggestions for settings with the Bass cosms to achieve a good bass sound?

Thumbs up

I would start with the 'drivin bass amp sim' patch #49 and than tweak (edit) and save the patch. I play guitar and brought a Fender Squre P-Bass and tweaked the patch a couple of times. I spent a few hours doing this. Any tweaking would depend on the PUPs in your bass so my setting may not be best for your bass.

Recording the Bass

Well, I like to bypass the COSM and put the bass thru a compressor before entering the BR-8. That gives me a good strong signal to record with. I was having trouble getting a good signal due to the dynamic output of the bass. With compression I'm able to boost up the signal a bit and get a nice clean rich full tone. Then a touch of EQ at mixdown and I'm done....
