buzzing dmt 8vl

just bought a used dmt 8vl. when i turn power on the hard disk starts a rather loud whining sound. seems micing would pick up sound. when monitoring playback, i can't tell if it's on the track or not.

It will not make as much noise when it "warms up" so to speak..Once it hits the rpms{5400}of the drive, its fairly quiet..You can get viberation if it sits on a uneven surface causeing noise also..Put some tissue under the one of the rubber feet..The one under the drivebay{underneath in the middle} is usally the culprit..Should be fairly quiet then ..Good luck
